THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- NEVER use DBA in the name of the debtor when filing a UCC.
- ALWAYS use the debtors LEGAL name when filing a UCC
- North Dakota and South Dakota UCC filings REQUIRE the tax id number for the debtor to be included
- Florida and Tennessee UCC’s REQUIRE a Documentary Tax Stamp to be included
- Terminated UCC’s are still considered to be an ACTIVE filing, and will only be considered inactive after its natural lapse date has passed.
